My name is David Le, a.k.a Minhute. Minhute derives from my Vietnamese name, Hoang Minh, or as I simply go by, Minh.
I am a 19 year-old self taught freelance photographer and cinematographer. I have side hobbies such as singing, dancing and graphic design. I've even dwelled in Flash animation for 5 years, and After Effects for 2 years, self taught. I am of Vietnamese and White-American descent, currently residing in the Maryland region of the "DMV" area.
I got into photography during my freshman year of High School because of one of my friends, Holly Fandey. She would shower me with her photographs, terms and all these different words, I was easily influenced at the time. Since then I started with a Canon Rebel T2i, upgraded to a Canon 70D, and finally upgraded to a Canon 6D, still in possession of my 70D. Because of the ongoing "It won't take you anywhere," I hadn't really taken the passion seriously until about my freshman year of college, because of my current girlfriend, Vicky Khamphoui. She gave me a reason and a muse to continue with my passion. It's what I loved to do.
From buying the Canon 6D, I began to burn all my money on camera gear. Simply through working at a Vietnamese Pho restaurant, I was able to purchase so many things that would later help me in photography and cinematography. In just one year, I purchased 2 Phantom 3 Adv. drones, a Ronin-M Stabilizer, a 70-200mm lens, a 24-70mm lens and a 24-105mm lens. Things were just going to get better and better. Of course I had to start repeating outfits now because I would stop spending money on clothes.
In my portraits I like to capture the image of peoples personalities, I do not like to tell them what to do exactly, I will give them guidelines but I will not tell them how to act or what to pose. I like to capture the person in front of the camera as they are, not what they should be. So in my photos, you may see awkward faces or something normal people wouldn't do, and thats because its the true figure of the model I'm shooting. There are times I might tell the model what to do for a little bit, but other than that I try to stray away from doing it.
One day my dream is to open up a studio somewhere in the world, to merge photography, cinematography and either dance or music. The three can work with one another and create the best content.
I have an entertainment group that I am the founder of called, "The Artisans." This is a group of entertainers (mostly dancers), ready to get their name out and show the world what they have in store. I am all about credit and equality, and that is what the Artisans is for, to share a fan base, popularity and to be able to benefit off one anothers skills. The group welcomes artists of all forms, living off the slogan of "Art in Unity."
I am also working on a more descrete group that goes by "Nativ." There will be more information about this group coming in 2017.
